The fourth week of the National Caravan ended with the event in Pitești, the thirteenth city that is part of the “Broken Wings” National Caravan, where we stopped on September 21, at “Dinicu Golescu” County Library, in Argeș county.
The event reunited a small group of people, which contained the representatives of the County Police Inspectorate in Argeș, the County Emergency Hospital in Argeș, the Gendarmerie Inspectorate in Argeș, DGASPC, the County Library in Argeș, and Save the Children.
Even though the representatives of the Local Public Administration and of the District Court, Court, and the Prosecutor’s Office did not honor us with their presence, this small group of people stroke up a friendship and brought up ideas for future collaborations in the field of the fight and prevention against domestic violence.
We left Pitești with a series of very important conclusions for Necuvinte Association, like the opening of IPJ Argeș towards the creation of a convention through which the community police officers should be trained to identify the first signs of abuse, the opening of the Gendarmerie Inspectorate to creating, together with us, new campaigns for raising awareness of this phenomenon, and training sessions for the gendarmerie staff, and two new friendships with Save the Children Argeș and with the County Library in Argeș.
As far as the statistical data regarding the protective order in Argeș county is concerned, in 2015, out of the 101 requests that were submitted, 45 were granted, and in 2016, the amount of submitted requests as well as the amount of granted requests has significantly increased, as out of 162 requests, 77 were granted.
We thank the County Police Inspectorate in Argeș for the involvement both in the organization of the event, as well as in the deployment of the “Broken Wings” national campaign in the rural and urban areas.
We thank Mrs. Mihaela Voinicu, director of the County Library in Argeș, for all the support, hosting of the event, and for the friendship which will result, as we hope, into a beautiful preventive education project at a national level.
