Necuvinte Association, represented by Mrs. Simona Voicescu, Executive Director, signed today, July 12, 2017, a collaboration protocol with the People’s Advocate Institution, represented by Mr. Victor Ciorbea.

Wanting to use common efforts for the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms, especially the provisions of art. 22 of the Constitution, concerning the right to life and physical and mental integrity and wishing the continuous exchange of information, the need to conclude this cooperation protocol was outlined.

Last but not least, the People’s Advocate Institution, together with the “Necuvinte” Association, have begun the process of drafting a special report on domestic violence, a report to be submitted to the Parliament and the Government of Romania.

In this context, the People’s Advocate, Mr. Victor Ciorbea, mentioned that domestic violence represents a serious violation of the constitutional provisions regarding the right to life and to physical and psychological integrity provided by art. 22 of the Basic Law, and the observance and protection of the human personality is a supreme value, and the public authorities have the obligation to protect and respect the intimate, family and private life of the citizens and to take all the measures provided by the law in this respect.
