At the invitation of the Institute of Crime Research and Prevention within the Romanian Police, we’ve participated today within the 21st edition of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’s Book Fair at a debate on the prevention of domestic violence with students from the Al.I.Cuza Police Academy.

During the debate, we viewed the documentary of the national campaign “Aripi Frânte” filmed in the summer of 2016 at the Târgşor Women’s Penitentiary and we discussed with the representatives of the Institute for Crime Prevention and Research the reluctance of the victims of domestic violence to ask for help from the state institutions and how they, as future practitioners, can adapt their approach to the victims so that they can go further with the legal actions.

Watching the documentary raised a lot of questions from the participants and we were glad to see young, future policemen who look at the phenomenon of domestic violence in all its complexity, above the immediate appearances.

At the end of the debate, we were honored to be awarded with the prize for excellency for our contribution to civic information and crime prevention with the “Aripi Frânte” national campaign.
