In May 21-25, there was #CrimePreventionWeek. Thursday, May 24, was dedicated to preventing domestic violence. At the invitation of the Institute for Crime Research and Prevention within the Romanian Police, we participated at the events organised in the University Passage along with the pupils of the “Floria Capsali” Choreography High School. After the artistic moment, there was a debate on the prevention of family crimes with high school youth and interested passers-by. The debate was moderated by the Institute for Crime Prevention and Investigation along with representatives of the Necuvinte Association and Touched Romania.
At the beginning of 2018, over 1,600 orders of protection were in place, more than 50% than in early 2017. Throughout the year, 2,337 protection orders were issued, the vast majority being issued at the request of the victim. – source Romanian Police
