On October 16, at the initiative of Ms Biró Rozália and the Multi-sectoral Group on Gender Equality together with the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), we participated in the conference “Romania to the Presidency of the European Union – Equality for a Developed Society“. The conference held at the Parliament Palace included Mrs. Virginija Lanbakk, Mrs. Virginija Lanbakk, Mrs. Rozalia Biro and Mrs. Eva-Andrea Csep, Simona Voicescu, President of Necuvinte Association, ANES State Secretary Grațiela Drăghici, Ionela Băluţă – Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Social and Asztalos Csaba, President of the CNCD.
At the end of the debate, all participants signed a Declaration supporting the implementation of the following issues:
1- Better implementation of the principle of equal pay;
2- Combating professional and sectoral segregation;
3- “Glass ceiling” removal: initiatives to combat vertical segregation;
4 – Solutions to the problem of deprivation of professional opportunities, of carers;
5 – Improving the skills, efforts and responsibilities of women;
6 – Lifting the veil: unraveling inequalities and stereotypes;
7 – Warning and information on pay gap between women and men;
8 – Strengthening partnerships to tackle the gender pay gap;
9 – Prevent, reduce and eliminate violence against women and girls.
