The Embassy of Israel in Bucharest marked 68 years since the establishment of the state of Israel by supporting the fight against domestic violence.
The Embassy of Israel in Romania through H.E. Mrs. Ambassador Tamar Samash donated the event celebrating of Israel’s Independence Day to the launch of the first national campaign of Necuvinte Association “Broken Wings”.
During the event that took place on July 1, at Marshal Hotel in Bucharest, the Israel Embassy donated a grant worth 71,500 lei to Necuvinte Association president, Simona Voicescu for the benefit of the victims of domestic violence.

The Ambassador of Israel in Bucharest, H.E. Mrs.Tamar Samash, stated that she feels very close to this social problem and that she is impressed by the efforts of the chairwoman of Necuvinte Association, Mrs. Simona Voicescu, made in the fight for the prevention and in raising awareness of this phenomenon and changing the legislation in favour of the victims. “Worldwide, one in three women has suffered once in her of life because of domestic violence.” – H.E. In the reception of the launching event many political leaders, diplomats and government members participated, among which the Minister of Justice – Mrs. Raluca Prună, Education Minister, Mr. Adrian Curaj, the chairman of the PSD political party Mr. Liviu Dragnea, the French Ambassador Mr. Francois Saint-Paul, the Ambassador of Lithuania – Mr. Arvydas Pocius and the US Ambassador Mr. Hans Klemm.
At the event, the chairwoman of Necuvinte Association has granted the title of Honorary Ambassador for the Fight Against Domestic Violence to H.E. Mrs. Ambassador Tamar Samash and to Mrs. Shelly Hugler Livne.
