The amendment brought to the Law no. 217/2003 on combating domestic violence regarding the issue of the restraining order within 72 hours was published in the Official Journal, Part I, no. 979 (Law no. 351/2015) and the law already produces its effects.

The amended article provides:

“The requests for the issue of a restraining order are being judged urgently and, in any case, their resolution may not exceed a period of 72 hours since the request. Requests are judged in the council chamber, the participation of the prosecutor is compulsory. “

This initiative has been introduced into parliamentary procedure on April 22, 2015 by the liberal deputy Mrs. Valeria Schelean in partnership with Necuvinte Association.
