For 15 years the Civil Society Gala promotes and rewards the most efficient, sustainable and original projects implemented by representatives of the non-governmental sector in Romania. This year 166 projects and programs were included in the competition, including the amendment of Law 217/2003 on the prevention and combating of domestic violence, a modification initiated by the Necuvinte Association with the help of the law firm Ţuca Zbârcea & Asociaţii and the political support of Ms Valeria Schelean. By this request the emergency protection order with a maximum of 72 hours was introduced in the legislation.
From the 17 sections of the competition: Education, Teaching, Research, Art and Culture, Protection of Individual / Collective Rights, Civic Behavior and Public Participation, Health, Social Inclusion, Social Assistance, Environmental Protection, Economic and Social Development,Volunteering Projects and Campaigns, Youth Projects, Social Responsibility Projects and Programs, our project won the 1st Prize in the section Protection of Individual / Collective Rights.
After the entry into force of this amendment, in the year 2016, a record was registered both on the number of applications for issuing a protection order and on the number of issued ones.
