The number of cases of domestic violence has increased, and the number of lawsuits regarding protection orders has doubled at the Bucharest Tribunal, in the context of isolation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Judge Laura Radu, president of the Bucharest Tribunal, told G4media.ro.

In the last 3 weeks alone, there have been 13 lawsuits in the Tribunal regarding the issuance of protection orders, given that, as a rule, they were 5-6 during this period.

Such trials are judged as a matter of urgency, on Skype, with the courtroom empty, and judges, clerks and gendarmes are equipped with masks, gloves and visors.
