Necuvinte Association, with the legal support of the law firm Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații and of several other senators and deputies from various political parties has been trying for two years to modify the Law 286/2009 regarding the Penal Code. The request is targeting some changes to be made of the 193/NCP article – “Impacts, hits or other acts of violence” in the sense of reducing the number of days of planned medical care so, that the state would appeal from the office, from 90 days as currently foreseen, to 30 days.
We have sent countless letters to all the state institutions, we made public calls, we participated in consultation sessions, but at this moment, the request is at the Legal Commission, the last commission in the Chamber of Deputies, where it has been registered with Pl-x no. 701/2015 and where it has been stuck for almost a year.
Every year, half of the criminal acts reported to the police, in the family spectrum, are linked to the 193 article and less than 5% of these acts get to be condemned by the judiciary.
