On September 20, we reached Vâlcea county, the twelfth county that is part of the “Broken Wings” National Caravan.

Beginning 11 a.m., Mrs. Aurora Gherghina, sub-prefect, Mrs. Mihaela Andreianu, county adviser and chairwoman of OFL Vâlcea, and Mrs. Elena Micuț – chief of the Probation Service, as well as representatives of DGASPC, AJPIS, DJST, School Inspectorate, NGOs, and the local press participated in the event, at “Antim Ivireanul” County Library, together with Necuvinte Association, and the County Police Inspectorate in Vâlcea.

We thank the County Police Inspectorate in Vâlcea, local partners in the “Broken Wings” national campaign, represented by  Mr. POPESCU ADRIAN GABRIEL – spokesman for the County Police Inspectorate in Vâlcea, Mr. NIȚU BOGDAN – chief of the Police Patrol Department, Mrs. ENĂCHESCU BIANCA – chief of the Department for Crime Prevention and Analysis, and Mr. DĂNĂLACHE CĂTĂLIN – Department for Crime Prevention and Analysis, Mr. SCHORSCH ALIN – Department for Crime Prevention and Analysis, and Mrs. COCOȘ MIHAELA – Department for Crime Prevention and Analysis, for the involvement in the organization of the event, as well as for the discussions full of solutions aimed at freeing the state system and easing the intervention of the police officers in cases of domestic violence.

Through the discussions carried within the event, the representatives of IPJ Vâlcea told the participants that the violations of the protective orders started to be punished in a harsher way as a generalized practice, as there are more and more cases where warrants for arrest and detaining are issued against the assailants who violate the previsions of a protective order. In addition, we were assured that within the next days there will take place a new distribution of preventive materials, which are part of the national campaign, and that they will target mostly the rural areas.

Mrs.  Elena Micuț, the chief of the Probation Service maintained that the institution managed by herself plans to initiate a counselling project against the anger of the family assailants sentenced to imprisonment with conditional suspension of execution of punishment, a project which we find extremely beneficial.

We thank “Antim Ivireanul” County Library for the support they offered in the organization of the event, as well as for the warmth they received and hosted us with.

As far as the statistic data regarding the protective order in Vâlcea county is concerned, in 2015, out of the 53 requests that were submitted, 23 were granted, and in 2016, even though the number of submitted requests has significantly increased, the same cannot be said about the amount of granted requests, as out of the 80 submitted requests, only 22 were granted. Unfortunately, we did not have the pleasure of meeting the representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office and of the Court at the event, but we hope that this will change by the end of this national caravan.
